How Safari Run Began

A Family Idea That Took Off

Safari Run began in San Mateo in 2006 as a true family effort. Founders Jodi and Rob Eichensehr, alongside their school-aged kids, saw firsthand that parents wanted a clean, safe place to stay, while kids wanted a space that was actually fun. What started as a single location was built by hand, shaped by family values, and guided by a simple goal: create a space where movement, confidence, and fun belong together.

Where Play Meets Fitness

With a background as a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer since 1990, Jodi designed Safari Run around the belief that healthy movement should feel fun, not forced. From open play and private parties to camps and fitness programs, every experience encourages teamwork, responsibility, and confidence. That balance of play and purpose continues to shape Safari Run as it grows with families and communities.
